The Copy and Download buttons don't appear
Reload the YouTube tab (F5). ScriptSnap only adds buttons on video pages (youtube.com/watch). If you use another extension that changes YouTube's layout, try turning it off to test. Also check that ScriptSnap is enabled at chrome://extensions.
It says "No transcript found"
The video has no captions. Check under the description: if YouTube doesn't show a Show transcript button, no transcript exists. Try again on another video to confirm ScriptSnap is working.
The transcript loads slowly or not at all
Click Try again in the panel. If it keeps failing, sign in to YouTube, disable ad or privacy extensions for youtube.com for a moment, then reload the page.
Copy doesn't paste anything
Click on the YouTube page first so it has focus, then click Copy again. Some clipboard managers block copying; try pasting into a plain text editor.
The download doesn't start
Check that Chrome isn't asking to allow downloads from youtube.com (look for an icon in the address bar). Also check your Downloads folder, since the file is named after the video title.
Translation isn't available
Auto-translate only works when YouTube offers it for that video. If the option fails, use the original caption track.
The panel covers part of the page
Use the float button in the panel header to switch between the sidebar and a floating panel, or press Alt+T to close it.

To change shortcuts, open chrome://extensions/shortcuts in Chrome.
Settings
Click the ScriptSnap icon in Chrome's toolbar and open Settings:
- Include timestamps when copying: adds
[0:42]before each line. - Merge lines into paragraphs: turns short caption lines into readable paragraphs.
- Show buttons under videos: hide the toolbar if you only use the panel or popup.
- Open transcript panel automatically: opens the panel on every video.
- Theme and Panel position: match YouTube or force light/dark; sidebar or floating.
Uninstalling and your data
Right-click the ScriptSnap icon and choose Remove from Chrome. This deletes its saved settings and starred lines. Files you downloaded stay on your computer.
