What is Lullpage?
Lullpage is a free Chrome extension that gives any website a comfortable pastel, sepia or dark color theme. It only recolors plain white backgrounds and black text, so logos, photos and brand colors stay intact. It runs 100% on your device with no account and no tracking.
How do I make every website pastel or sepia in Chrome?
Install Lullpage from the Chrome Web Store, click its toolbar icon and pick a theme such as Lull, Lavender, Mint or Sepia. The theme applies to every website right away. To use a different theme on one site, click Only this site.
How is Lullpage different from Dark Reader?
Dark Reader focuses on dark mode using page-wide filters. Lullpage offers 21 themes, including 12 pastel and 3 paper tones as well as 6 dark themes, and it recolors only plain areas, so logos, photos and brand-colored buttons look exactly as designed.
Does Lullpage collect any data?
No. Lullpage has no account, no servers and no analytics, and it makes no network requests. Your settings are saved with Chrome's local storage on your own computer. See the privacy policy.
Can Lullpage switch to dark mode automatically at night?
Yes. Open the Night tab and choose Follow system to use a night theme whenever your computer is in dark mode, or Set hours to pick times, for example 8:00 PM to 6:30 AM.
Is Lullpage free?
Yes. Lullpage is completely free, with no paid tier, no ads and no sign-up.
Does Lullpage help with eye strain or dyslexia?
Lullpage is a comfort tool, not a medical product. Softer backgrounds, a warm light filter, a readable font and extra line and letter spacing are settings many readers, including some people with dyslexia, find more comfortable for long reading. If you have ongoing eye discomfort, talk to an eye care professional.
Which browsers does Lullpage work in?
Google Chrome and other Chromium browsers that can install from the Chrome Web Store, such as Microsoft Edge, Brave, Opera and Vivaldi. It does not run on Chrome for Android or iPhone, because those do not support extensions.
Why doesn't Lullpage work on some pages?
Chrome blocks every extension on its own pages, such as the New Tab page, chrome:// settings pages and the Chrome Web Store. Built-in PDF viewers are also off-limits. Lullpage works on normal websites.
Can I turn Lullpage off for one website?
Yes. Open Lullpage on that site and click Skip site. The site keeps its original colors until you click it again. You can see and edit every rule on the settings page.
What does the warm light filter do?
It adds a soft, click-through amber layer over the page that reduces blue light, similar to Night Light on Windows or Night Shift on macOS, but only inside the browser. You can set its strength and use it with any theme, including Original.
What are the keyboard shortcuts?
Alt+Shift+L turns Lullpage on or off, Alt+Shift+N switches to the next theme, and Alt+Shift+K opens the popup. You can change them at chrome://extensions/shortcuts.
Will Lullpage slow down websites?
Lullpage is about 80 KB and does its work in small idle-time batches, so pages stay responsive. It adds one stylesheet per page and never loads anything from the internet.
I used Color Reader. What changed?
Color Reader is now called Lullpage. Version 2.0 keeps all your settings and adds a new design, 5 new themes, night mode scheduling, warm light, reading spacing, keyboard shortcuts and a settings page. See what's new.
How do I move my settings to another computer?
Open Lullpage's settings page, click Export settings to save a small file, then click Import settings on the other computer.
